I am so excited, in 2 weeks’ time I’ll be waking up to the fresh smell of home… My mom’s house! In a comfortable spare room that she lovingly prepared for me, fresh with new paint and some surprise changes, and the songs of familiar birds chirping in the background…
Oh, how I have missed you.
This beautiful country is so full of character, with memories of my family and some of my dearest friends.
South Africa is also home to some of the very first newborns and babies I ever photographed! What a wonderful feeling to not only come home for those I love, but also to meet new faces, make new memories, and to celebrate the amazing milestones and events I would have otherwise missed.
Because I visit once a year for a few weeks at a time, it makes perfect sense for me to use the in-between times to do something productive. So I’ll be bringing my camera, of course!
So I want to ask you, do not only focus on the stresses and rush of every day life, but take a moment and think of when last you had uninterrupted time with your family. When last did you have an updated family portrait taken? If you love my work, now would be the perfect time to take some time out of your daily routine, create new memories, and allow me to capture something wonderful for you to treasure, to remember the ones you hold so dear before they get older and this time with them is over… There is no such time as the present.
Photographing newborns & maternity, little ones, families and couples, brings me great joy and is something I would love to do again while visiting in 2016.
